The National Capital Area Chapter also offers training sessions and conferences for professionals to better understand dementia patients and improve quality of care. Our library contains a wealth of resources for professionals and families and is open to the public, Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Book Recommendations page highlights our top picks among the many books about Alzheimer's.
The Chapter provides many services that you may wish to recommend to people with Alzheimer's and their families. Our Helpline provides personalized advice to patients and families over the phone 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Safe Return program helps reconnect wandering people with dementia with their caregivers. We also have support groups for both people with dementia and caregivers to connect with those who understand, and caregiver essays to spotlight real-life experiences of caregivers.
