The Alzheimer's Association is the world leader in Alzheimer research and support. For more than 25 years, we have provided reliable information, created supportive programs and services for families, increased resources for dementia research, and influenced changes in public policy. Our mission is to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health. Our vision is a world without Alzheimer's disease.

As part of a nationwide network of 78 chapters, the Alzheimer's Association, National Capital Area Chapter provides programs and services throughout Northern Virginia, suburban and Southern Maryland, and the District of Columbia.
Services include counseling, information and education for families and caregivers; support groups; Safe Return; training for professionals; community education; and government advocacy on the state and local levels.
Our service territory encompasses 500,000 individuals, including those diagnosed and their families and care partners.
